[Men's Basketball] Two Pioneers Receive Cal Pac Honors
ANGWIN, Calif-Pioneers Athletics extends congratulations to seniors Noel Briones (SR/Hayward,CA) and Jayson Marquez (SR/Harlem, NY) for their inclusion in the California Pacific Conference end of the season honors. Briones received Cal PAC's Champions of Character award, while Marquez was named to Cal PAC's All Conference Second Team. Rae Hubbard (SR/Fairfield, CA) and Brandon Franklin (SR/Perris, CA) also received end of the season honorable mentions at the awards banquet this past weekend.

Angwin, Calif- At the conclusion of each season, the California Pacific Conference distinguishes its elite student-athletes during its annual awards banquet. The Pioneers were well represented this year by Imari Clinton (SO/Mill Creek, WA), who collected All-Conference First Team honors and Gabriela Lua (SO/Sacramento, CA), who received her team's NAIA Champions of Character award.

ANGWIN, Calif.-PUC women's basketball honored graduating forward Makana Kaaikala-Caban (SR/Lahaina, HI) in their final game of the season as the Pioneers looked to begin Senior Night on a high note. However, despite a competitive game, the Pioneers could not find the win, falling to California State University- Maritime 45-57.

PUC Men's Basketball team ended the 2017-18 season with a commanding win at home against the visiting California State University-Maritime Keelhaulers. A strong scoring display in the second half carried the Pioneers to a win on a special night for PUC's seniors, 74-66.
[Women's Basketball] Pioneers Unable to Finish Halftime Lead
ANGWIN, Calif.- In their second to last game of their regular season, the Pioneers fought to defend their home turf against the UC Merced Bobcats. Although the Pioneers had the lead at halftime, they were unable to regain traction after losing their momentum in the third quarter. By the final buzzer the Pioneers fell short of the Bobcats, 68-55. The loss brings PUC's conference record, 1-12, with only one game remaining in their season.

Despite taking an early lead and making a strong comeback attempt, the Pioneers came up short, falling, 71-82. The loss drops the Pioneers conference record to 6-7, and 9-14 overall.

LANCASTER, Calif.- The Pioneers hit the road to play against University of Antelope Valley in hopes to put an end to their losing streak. PUC struggled early on but were able to put together a better performance in the second half. Unfortunately for the Pioneers, their efforts weren't enough, and UAV took the win 89-53.
SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- Looking tolock in another win, the Pioneers headed down to Santa Cruz to play against the Banana Slugs. PUC would face an upward battle with the opposing team, eventually falling 91-66, with only three games remaining in the regular season.

VALLEJO, Calif.- The Pioneers men's basketball team faced an uphill battle on Thursday night as they traveled to Vallejo to play against Cal State Maritime and their three-game winning streak. The Pioneers came out strong, but were unable to hang on for the win. The 77-85 loss, brings PUC's record 6-9, overall.
