(May 30, 2018) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Wednesday the women's softball student-athletes who have been named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Softball Scholar-Athletes. From Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), Taylor Doege (SR/San Antonio, Texas), Lauren Guerra (SR/El Paso, Texas) and Alexis Macias (SR/San Antonio, Texas) have earned this honor.In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

(May 21, 2018) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the competitor list for the 38th annual Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. The meet is set to take place on May 24-26 in Gulf Shores, Ala., at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.Representing Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) in the national championships will be Miki Romain (SO/Round Rock, Texas). Last season, Romain participated in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships hosted in Johnson City, Tenn. She etched her name in history by being one of the first individuals to qualify and participate at the national championship meet.

SAN ANTONIO (May 25, 2018) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) Head Coach Jeremiah Tiffin is pleased to announce the volleyball team's recruiting class for 2018. KANSAS CITY, MO. (May 18, 2018) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's tennis' Mathias Rocha (SR/Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil) has been named a 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, the NAIA announced today. This marks Rocha's second straight year receiving the NAIA Scholar Athlete award.
[Men's Golf] OLLU men's golf completes its second consecutive trip to nationals
SILVIS, ILL. (May 18, 2018) - Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf made its second consecutive trip to nationals, and this year, the Saints placed 21st in the 2018 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run. Winning the tournament was Oklahoma City University, the team's 11th crown in program history.OLLU senior Rafael Jauregui (SR/Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico), who received his bachelor's degree from OLLU last week, played his best-ever tournament in his four years as a member of the Saints team. After three rounds, Jauregui qualified for the final round as an individual having shot 71, 70 and 72, finishing with a final round of 78 for a total score of 291 - the tournament's 33rd best out of 93 golfers.Head Coach Alan E. Baxter commented, "We worked hard to get to nationals and made historic progress. Most importantly for our team was for the fourth year in a row, we will receive NAIA Scholar Team recognition. Additionally, Merrick Ramos (OLLU alumnus) was accepted into Marquette Law School, and Rafael, along with Steve Landry (SO/Cibolo, Texas), graduated with BBA degrees. This is truly what it is all about - education and preparing ourselves to be excellent servant leaders."We greatly appreciate the university allowing us to compete on the national stage. SAN ANTONIO (May 19, 2018) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) sports information office received an Award of Merit from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) - San Antonio Professional Chapter last Thursday. The 16th Annual PRSA Del Oro Awards, recognizing the stars of public relations in San Antonio, was held May 17 at the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel in downtown San Antonio.
[OLLU] OLLU garners fifth straight RRAC All-Sports Award
WACO, TEXAS (May 17, 2018) -- Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) maintained its grip on the Red River Athletic Conference's (RRAC) year-long honor by claiming the 2017-2018 RRAC All-Sports Award. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Saints' athletic department has been the conference's top performer, extending a run that is the second best in conference history behind Houston Baptist's nine straight years at the top. OLLU led the field with 132 total points.Athletic Director Jack Hank commented, "I am so proud of all over our coaches and our student-athletes who continue to do the best they can every single day to excel not only in the classroom and in the community, but also in their playing atmosphere. Their hard work has paid off, and for that, I congratulate them! Great job Saints! I also commend all the other schools, who brought home championships to their programs. Today is a great day for the Red River Athletic Conference."

The five student-athletes joining the Saints for the 2018-2019 season include Bryce Putman from Baytown, Texas, Cristian Hernandez from Los Fresnos, Texas, Eric Elizondo from Mission, Texas, Joel Rodriguez from Spring, Texas and Aaron Gonzalez from Pasadena, Texas.

KANSAS CITY, MO. (May 11, 2018) – (First Round | Second Round | Championship Information) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the team, individual qualifiers, pairings and tee times for the 2018 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships. The 67th annual event will take place at TPC Deere Run for the third-straight year in Silvis, Ill., May 15-18.The 156-player field consists of 21 automatic qualifying teams, which won or finished runner-up in their respective conference, independent or unaffiliated group tournament, one host berth to St. Ambrose University (Iowa) and seven at-large team berths. At-large teams were determined using the final regular-season Coaches' Top 25 Poll released today. [Softball] OLLU softball ends season with loss to Houston-Victoria in conference tournament
MESQUITE, TEXAS (May 6, 2018) – After a whirl of time, date and venue changes due to inclement weather in the Dallas area, the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) softball team was finally able to play its Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament game on Saturday. Originally scheduled to play on Friday at 6:30 p.m., the Saints faced the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) (after the Jaguars beat the University of the Southwest) at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday. The tournament was adjusted to single elimination with all games played on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. The championship game took place Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
[Baseball] OLLU baseball ends season with two losses in conference tournament
SHREVEPORT, LA. (May 6, 2018) – Weather delays prevented the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament from its original schedule. The Saints, slated to begin the tournament on Friday, May 5, had to wait a day to play its first game. On Saturday, they faced Texas A&M University – Texarkana and fell to the Eagles 10-5. With the loss, the Saints moved on to a Sunday, 4:30 p.m. game against LSU-Shreveport, hoping to stay alive. Unfortunately, they dropped their second and final game 7-6 to end their season at 25-29.
[Volleyball] OLLU volleyball pleased with spring outcome
SAN ANTONIO (May 8, 2018) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team wrapped up its spring season after a historic 2017 season that featured the team's third Red River Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles and the participation in the NAIA National Championship Tournament Pool Play. It was the first time in history that the Saints advanced to the round of Pool Play.
SAN ANTONIO (May 8, 2018) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) has announced the hiring of Chris Wright as the new men's basketball head coach. Wright joins the Saints in their 10th season as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). He will start on May 14.Vice President for Student Life/Athletic Director Jack Hank commented, "I am excited to welcome Chris to our Saints family. He brings a wealth of experience and he has a record of success at the collegiate level that I found very impressive. Our basketball program has accomplished quite a few significant milestones throughout its nine years, and I look forward to seeing him continue the atmosphere of excellence as the team enters its 10th season in 2018-2019."

The first game of the tournament has been postponed to Saturday, May 5. At 1 p.m. on Saturday, the No. 2 LSUA Generals will play the No. 5 Jarvis Christian Bulldogs. At 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, No. 4 OLLU will play No. 3 TAMUT. DALLAS, TEXAS (May 5, 2018) – Due to inclement weather in Farmers Branch, Texas, the 2018 RRAC Softball Tournament has had to adjust its schedule as well as move venues. The tournament will now be held at the Mesquite GIrls Softball Complex at 1717 McKenzie Road, in Mesquite, Texas. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) is scheduled to play Saturday, May 5 at approximately 9:30 p.m.After the first day of the tournament had to be postponed, the tournament will be adjusted to a six-team, single elimination bracket.All games will feature live stats and all will be livestreamed at: College TV Ticket. SAN ANTONIO (May 3, 2018) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) celebrated its 2017-2018 season with the Seventh Annual Big Blue Athletic Banquet on Wednesday, May 2 in the university's Chapel Auditorium. Close to 250 athletes from OLLU's 13 teams were honored for their accomplishments throughout the 2017-2018 season. The only team not in attendance was the baseball team, as the men were on their way to the conference tournament in Shreveport, La.The evening began with a welcome from banquet chair Alan E. Baxter, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. He introduced Gloria Urrabazo, Vice President for Mission and Ministry, who provided the invocation and blessing. Athletic Director Jack Hank came up to introduce the season highlight video produced by Sports Information Assistant Sera Quiroga, and those in attendance enjoyed a dinner catered by A Gala Event. (May 3, 2018) - The Red River Athletic Conference announced the 2018 All-Conference Team this evening at the conference tournament at LSU-Shreveport.Named to the All-Conference First Team was starting pitcher Jordan Hackett (SR/San Antonio, Texas). Logan Garza (FR/Round Rock, Texas) was named to the All-Conference Second Team as a relief pitcher.Jacob Mitchell (FR/Harker Heights, Texas) was selected to the Gold Glove Team as the first baseman, while Alex Martinez received Gold Glove honors as the shortstop.Mike Light (SR/San Antonio, Texas) was named the team's Champions of Character.
[Men's Golf] OLLU men's golf in first place after two rounds in conference tournament
LITCHFIELD PARK, ARIZ. (May 1, 2018) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team is tied for first place after two rounds in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC)/Association for Independent Institutions (A.I.I.)/Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Tournament hosted by Arizona Christian University. The tournament is taking place at the Wigwam Golf Course on the Gold Course. Head Coach Alan E. Baxter commented, "This is a huge and tough field. There are five teams in the top 30 in the nation, with two of them being top 10. Being tied for first after two rounds of the tournament is nice, but we left too many shots out there. There is a logjam at the top. On a windy and difficult course with many hazards, no lead is safe. We have to take care of the ball today and play our game. We have to come out and answer the bell. We were the last team off the course yesterday practicing after 36 holes. We will grind today. More to come."
[Baseball] Saints baseball is set for conference tournament in Louisiana
SAN ANTONIO (May 1, 2018) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team will leave Wednesday morning to participate in the 2018 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championship Tournament May 4-7. This is the Saints' third trip since their inaugural season in 2015. It is also Head Coach Bryan Aughney's first trip to the conference tournament as the Saints coach.
