NCTC Lady Lions defeats Northeastafter late game single, 6-4After five lead changes in Saturday's game at Gainesville, TX, NCTC Lady Lions finally pulled out a 6-4 win over Northeast.


[Volleyball] Volleyball Tryouts December 6th
North Central Texas College has announced that tryouts for the 2016 team will be held on Sunday, December 6th. The tryouts will take place at Lions Fieldhouse on the NCTC Gainesville campus from 1 to 3 p.m. The gym and check in will open at Noon.Scholarships are available. Players attending the tryout are asked to complete the online questionnaire form located at www.nctcathletics.com. [Volleyball] 4 Members of Lady Lion Team named All-Conference
The volleyball coaches of the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference recently met and selected the All-Conference team for 2015.Twelve players were named First Team All-Conference and were also named to the All-Region V team.

The Home Volleyball Match set for tomorrow, November 3rd, has been cancelled. The Lady Lions will resume play on Friday, November 6th at the Conference Tournament. 


[Volleyball] Region V North Tournament Begins Friday
2015 NJCAA Region V North Volleyball Tournament begins Friday. The Lady Lions will start play at 12:00pm at Texas Wesleyan University (Sid Richardson Center, Ft. Worth). The matches will be streamed at the following link: http://portal.stretchinternet.com/ramsports/. No sound will be available for the match, but live play and scoring will stream.

[Baseball] Michalski named Academic All-American
Recent North Central Texas College graduate Matt Michalski, who was a member of the Lions baseball team for the past two years, was recently named Academic All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).


[Baseball] Lions' Four-College Showcase Camp Tuesday June 9

[Baseball] Lions Split Bye Week
Lions had their bye week and finished splitting a series in Oklahoma with Rose State.  They lost game one 7-6 but rebounded to win game two 5-3.  The Lions then traveled to Murray State and lost 12-2 but rebounded at home the next day to win 9-4.In game one, the Lions were down 4-0 in the 3rd inning when the offense responded with 3 runs.  Austin Owens and Garret Easton both scored on Jose Perez's homerun to center.  Unfortunately the Lions gave a run right back for a 5-3 score.In the 5th the Lions responded with three more runs.  Perez and Hunter Henderson and Slayton Vaughan all walked to load the bases.  Tanner Luna delivered a three-run triple to right.  Rose State answered with two more runs in the bottom of the inning for the final of 7-6.In game two, the Lions tied the game in the 3rd with Garret Easton's homerun to right.  In the 4th, Ethan Davis tripled and scored on Josh Reeves' double to center.In the 5th, Hunter Henderson delivered a two-run homerun.  The Lions held on for the 5-3 win.  Starter Matt Michalski picked up the win going 6 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts.  Eduarado Jimenez picked up his 7th save of the year with shoutout 7th inning.On Friday, the Lions traveled to Murray State.  In the 1st, Matt Heck delivered a bases loaded walk to take the early 1-0 lead.  That would be the highlight of the game with the Lions eventally falling 12-2.On Saturday, things were reversed.  The Lions were down 1-0 after the top of the 1st, but answered with 5 runs.  Austin Ingraham got things going with a lead off double to right.  He later scored on an error.  Slayton Vaughan delivered a sacrifice fly to left.  Ethan Davis singled to center and later scored on a wild pitch.  Garret Easton smoked a two-run single to center for the runs.In the 2nd, Ingraham singled and moved to 2nd on Christian Quinones hit by pitch.  Ingraham scored on an error.  Davis' RBI ground out gave the Lions a 7-1 lead.  The Lions would eventually win 9-4.  The Lions start conference play next week with McLennan College.


[Baseball] Lions Loose First Conference Series
The Lions hosted McLennan College this past week and won game one in extra innings 7-6.  They lost two 1-run games and lost game four 9-3.On Wednesday, the Lions were down 2-0 going into the 3rd inning.  After Garret Easton and Austin Ingraham both singled, Christian Quinones delivered a single to right. In the 4th, the Lions took the lead with two runs.  Ethan Davis was hit by a pitch.  Easton walked to move Davis up.  Ingraham's single delivered both runs.  Unfortunately MCC answered with 3 runs to take the lead back. The score held unil the 7th, when Slayton Vaughan doubled and later scored on an error to tie the game. After giving up a run in the extra frames in the 9th, Hunter Henderson singled.  Vaughan's ground ball was misplayed to give the winning run on first.  Pinch hitter Tanner Luna was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Kyle Bottger delivered a single to right for the walk-off game winning hit.Eduarado Jimenez got the win with his shut-out 9th inning of work. In game two, the Lions were down 4-1 going into the 7th.  Easton singled and moved to 2nd on Ingraham's single.  Chrstian Quinones singled home a run but was thrown out going for a double.  Henderson singled with two outs to cut the lead to 4-3, but Vaughan struck out to end the game.Starter Matt Michalski suffered his first loss of the year going 6 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 strikeouts.On Friday, the Lions traveled to Waco for the final doubleheader of the series.  The Lions took the early lead when Hunter Henderson's RBI groundout scored Austin Ingraham who had singled.  Unfortunately the Lions gave up three runs in the bottom of the inning. With the score of 4-1 going into the 5th, the Lions got rolling.  With two outs, Ingraham doubled to left and scored on Quinones' double to left.  Jose Perez singled off the pitcher's leg.  Henderson walked to load the bases.  Vaughan's ground ball found a hole through the left side to give the Lions the 5-4 lead.  Unfortunately after three walks in the 7th, the Lions lost on a walk-off infield single.Starter Hayden Hibler struggled early, but went on to have a solid game.  He finished with 6 innings allowing 9 hits, 4 runs (2 earned) on 1 walk.The Lions could not recover in game two. Only spark was in the 6th inning down 4-0, the Lions scored two.  Ingraham doubled to left and scored on Perez's single to center.  He stole second and scored on Henderson's single.  Unfortunately MCC answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning to take the commanding 8-2 lead.The Lions are currently in a three-way tie for third place in the 9-team conference.  They will travel to Grayson on Wednesday.
