[Track & Field] Cross Country, Track & Field Announces 2018-19 Recruiting Class
BATESVILLE, Ark. – Lyon College head men's and women's cross country/track & field coach, Adam Trausch, has announced the signing of 13 new members that are set to join the programs during the 2018-19 school year. The men's and women's cross country teams will enter their second season of competition this fall after a seven-year hiatus, while the track & field programs will enter their first season of competition after it was disbanded in the early 1990s.

[Scots] 140 Student-Athletes Named to AD Honor Roll
Spring 2018 AD Honor RollBATESVILLE, Ark. - Lyon College student-athletes finished the 2018 spring semester with success in the classroom as 19 Scots earned a 4.0 grade-point average, while 140 student-athletes were recognized Monday when Lyon Athletics Director, Kevin Jenkins, announced the Spring 2018 AD Honor Roll. To be named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must finish the semester with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.The Scots' football team led the way with 35 players named to the honor roll. Baseball had the second-most players honored (23), followed by men's soccer (16), volleyball (13), women's basketball (12), men's basketball (11), softball (11), men's wrestling (6), men's golf and women's soccer (5), cheerleading (4), women's wrestling (3) and women's cross country (1).


[Baseball] Durkes Signs With Lyon Baseball
(Story courtesy of Kelly McElroy from the Houma Today) TERREBONNE PARISH, La. – It sure is an exciting time for Houma Christian School (La.) senior baseball player Dalton Durkes.Not only is he on the brink of starting his final high school baseball season on a team that returns nearly every player from a 2017 Division IV state semifinal squad, but he also signed to play college baseball on Friday afternoon.Following the 2018 prep season, Durkes, an outfielder, is headed to Lyon College, a four-year NAIA school located in Batesville, Ark., about an eight-hour drive from Houma.

Fans can renew or purchase 2018-19 season ticket packages for men's and women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball, men's and women's soccer and football by mailing in a ticket brochure to the Lyon College Athletic Department (Lyon Athletics, P.O. Box 2317, Batesville, AR 72503).

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Lyon College Director of Athletics Kevin Jenkins has announced that David Groves has been named the head men's soccer coach at Lyon College. Groves has coached at various levels including collegiate, high school and club.

[Scots] Lyon Athletics Honored By United Way NCA
BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College athletics department was presented with the Vocational Volunteer of the Year award at the annual United Way of North Central Arkansas Awards Ceremony that was held on Tuesday night at the Batesville Community Center. The award was given based on, "Outstanding generosity of vocational resources to the United Way staff throughout the year."

BATESVILLE, AR – THE LYON COLLEGE Athletic Department today announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with NIKE through BSN SPORTS. The agreement, which will commence on July 1, 2018, is part of the BSN SPORTS Collegiate Select program, which aims to make BSN SPORTS a one-stop provider for all collegiate athletic, intramural, club and staff apparel and equipment to all NAIA, D1, DII, D3, and NJCAA schools.

[Baseball] Baseball Drops First Game In Opening Round To Seahawks
Tournament CentralLAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – A four-run first inning by No. 3-seeded Keiser put the No. 2-seeded Lyon College baseball team in a hole early. The Scots attempted a late comeback in the bottom of the ninth, but the Seahawks held on for an 8-2 victory in the first game of the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round for both teams. Keiser improved to 38-17 overall, while Lyon fell to 36-16.

[Baseball] Baseball Prepares For NAIA Opening Round
BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College baseball clinched a spot in the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round for the fourth time in the last six years after winning the American Midwest Conference Regular-Season Title and earning one of the two conference's automatic berths into the Opening Round. The Scots were placed in the Lawrenceville Bracket as the No. 2-seed and will play their Opening Round games on the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College. The Opening Round will take place on May 14-17, with the Scots taking on No. 3-seed Keiser (Fla.) in a first-round matchup at 2 p.m. (Central Time).


[Baseball] Tognarine, Seibel Named To AMC Gold Glove Team

LOUIS, Mo. – The Lyon College baseball team landed two players on the American Midwest Conference 2018 Gold Glove Team, which was announced by the league office on Friday night. Pitcher, Tyler Tognarine, and center fielder, Tanner Seibel, were the two players selected on the Gold Glove Team for the Scots.


[Softball] Norman Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Award
CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball TeamGREENWOOD, Ind. – Lyon College softball player Rachel Norman was named to the College Division's CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District Team on Thursday. Student-athletes are named to the list for their performance and dedication on the field and in the classroom.Norman earns the recognition with a 3.33 grade point average and is a psychology major. With the All-District award, she is automatically nominated to the Academic All-America list, which will be released in June.

The five-team, double-elimination, Lawrenceville Bracket, will be hosted by Georgia Gwinnett College and will be held at the Grizzly Baseball Complex in Lawrenceville, Ga. The Opening Round will be played on May 14-17.
