[Baseball] Delzell signs with the Salina Stockade
Salina, KS - Kevin Delzell recently signed with the Salina Stockade of the Pecos League.  This is the third Ashford player to sign a professional contract during Coach Govek's tenure.   Delzell joins,  LHP – Roy Bringelson (Rockford Riverhawks)  and  OF – Gary Mayberry (Prescott Federals) .     


[Softball] Softball Open the National Tournament at Lindsay Wilson
On Tuesday, May 10th the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 40 team field and pairings for the 2016 NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round.


[Softball] Final Home Game Ever Nets a Split with Rival St. Ambrose, Hall of Famers Inducted
Clinton, IA – Playing at the home of Ashford Softball for the final time, the Saints outlasted rival St. Ambrose 5-4 in 8 innings in game one and then celebrated three of the most decorated players in the programs history between games of the double-header. The Queen Bees rebounded to take game two, 12-4.


[Baseball] Baseball at Clarke Postponed
Today's double header at Clarke University has been postponed due to weather conditions. A makeup date for the competition is to be announced. The Saints will be back in action on Friday at Grace University (Neb.). First pitch is set for 6 PM.


[Softball] Inclement Weather Forces Softball to Amend Schedule
Clinton, Iowa – Mother Nature is doing just enough to play havoc on the sports season at Ashford this spring. Cold, rain, wind or a mixture of all three has forced the AU softball team to scramble to find dates to wrap up the final season for the Saints.

[Softball] Strong Pitching Helps Saints Softball Sweep William Penn
Clinton, Iowa – Both Ashford starting pitchers turned in solid performances as the Saints took both games of a double-header on their home field Monday night from William Penn. Senior Nicole Schmidt went the distance, shutting out the Statesmen 4-0 in the opener. Sophomore Shelby Yepsen took the ball in game two, lasting five innings and taking a no-decision. Yepsen surrendered just 3 runs (2 earned) but handed the ball to Schmidt in the sixth inning. Schmidt picked up her second win of the night as the Saints broke a 3-3 tie in their half of the sixth, rallying for three runs and a 6-3 win.


[Softball] Saints Sweep Clarke as Schmidt Reaches Milestone Win
Clinton, Iowa – Senior right-hander Nicole Schmidt won her 50th career softball game and five players slammed home runs as Ashford marked two important wins over Association of Independent Institutions (Aii) foe Clarke on Saturday. The Saints took game one 3-0 then outslugged CU 9-6 to complete the sweep. Fellow seniors Taylor Ellestad and Natalia Reynoso both hit solo homers in the opener. Katelyn Hair, Emily Lopez and Siera Spahiu all hit round-trippers in game two.


[Baseball] Baseball Home Opener Postponed
Baseball Head Coach John Govek has announced that the home opener for the Saints scheduled for Monday, March 28th against St. Ambrose has been postponed. A tentative makeup date has been set for Wednesday, March 30th with the first pitch at 3 PM. 


[Softball] Ellestad, Yepsen Spark Saints to Gain a Split With #25 St. Francis
Joliet, Illinois – With two outs and two runners on in the top of the seventh inning, Taylor Ellestad clubbed her seventh home run of the season, a three-run shot, to give the Ashford softball team 5-2 lead over St. Francis (Ill.). Saints starter Shelby Yepsen worked a perfect seventh inning, going the distance to earn her second win of the season. St. Francis took the first game 4-1


[Softball] Saints Stun #10 St. Xavier in Extra Inning Thriller
Chicago, Illinois – Ashlee Amador doubled, homered and recorded three RBI as Nicole Schmidt pitched 7 straight scoreless innings as the Ashford softball team knocked off #10 St. Xavier in game two of the season opening double-header for the Cougars. The victory marks the first time in school history that the Saints have beaten SXU. The game took one extra inning as Katelyn Hair singled to right field to score pinch runner Bridgette Griffin. St. Xavier took game one 9-1 in a 5-inning affair, shortened by the run-rule.

Due to the forecast of low temperatures and snow, softball has postponed their scheduled double-header on Thursday vs William Penn.  A make-up date is still to be announced.

Due to wet field conditions, the Ashford University softball team has postponed tomorrow's rescheduled double-header with William Penn. The twin bill will now take place on Thursday, March 24. First pitch will be thrown at 5:00pm.

[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Schedule Set for Final Ashford University Spring Classic
Coach Sheena James has released the schedule for the final Ashford University Spring Classic. The Saints will host the track and field event on Saturday, April 2nd at the Ashford University South Campus Athletic Complex.  Weigh-ins are set for 9:00-9:45 am with field events and running to start shortly after.

The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) announced the student athletes named to the 2015-2016 All-Conference Teams this past week.  Ashford senior Brittany Cross was named A.I.I. DII Second-Team All-Conference.

[Softball] Ashford Softball Takes Two in St. Ambrose Tournament
The Ashford softball team is off to its best start in school history after winning two games Saturday in the St. Ambrose Tournament on Saturday inside the Ambrose Dome. The Saints downed the hosts first, outlasting St. Ambrose 4-3. Judson rallied in the seventh inning of game two, pulling to within a single run. But Ashford closed the door before the Eagles could tie the game, pushing their record to 8-2.


[Softball] Ellestad Sets Single Game Home Run Record as Saints Sweep Mt. Mercy
Monday was a great day for Taylor Ellestad (SR/SS/Cottage Grove Wisconsin), as she clubbed three home runs to carry the Ashford Softball squad to a 7-1 victory over Mount Mercy inside the Avanti's Dome in Pekin, Illinois. Nicole Schmidt (SR/RHP/Beaver Dam, Wisconsin) picked up two wins, the second one in relief as the Saints swept the Mustangs in the double header.

Pekin, Ill. – With 11 seniors on the Ashford Softball roster, everyday could be senior day. While sweeping two Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents in Judson and Cardinal Stritch, the veterans were on full display on Wednesday in the Avanti's Dome.


[Softball] Softball Saints open season with a split as Schmidt K?s 10 in the opener
An outstanding effort by Ashford senior ace Nicole Schmidt hoisted Ashford Saints to a 3-0 win in seven innings over Hannibal-LaGrange on Thursday inside the Avanti's Dome in Pekin, Illinois. The Trojans would bounce back to split the double-header with a game two win as both teams took the field for the first time in 2016.

– On Saturday, Feb. 20, the Ashford University Saints women's basketball team will play its final home game in Kehl Arena. To mark the occasion, the University is planning an all-day "Basketball Bash."

The Ashford University Women's Basketball team traveled to Indiana University Northwest to compete in the first A.I.I. Classic, where the Saints faced off with two conference foes.
